Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Juande Ramos has replaced Bernd Schuster in charge of Real Madrid.

Schuster was sacked on Tuesday after a miserable run of form that saw Real slip to fifth in the league and get knocked out of the Copa del Rey by third-tier Real Union Irun. They lost 4-3 at home to Sevilla in Schuster’s final game in charge on Sunday.
The German won the Liga title in his first campaign last season after replacing Fabio Capello, now of England.
Ramos was sacked by Spurs in October after collecting two points from eight Premier League games this season.
After winning the Carling Cup in February, Spurs won only six matches out of 26 in all competitions under the Spaniard.
He is highly regarded in Spain after guiding Sevilla to two consecutive UEFA Cup titles and taking them into the Champions League before moving to White Hart Lane in 2007.
Club president Calderon narrowly won a vote of confidence at the club’s general assembly last week, and former president Florentino Perez is lining himself up for a possible return to the Bernabeu.
Real visit arch-rivals and league leaders Barcelona on Saturday, a match that Schuster said was “not possible” for the away team to win.
