L’OM levelled on 16 minutes, through a far-post Mamadou Niang header from Laurent Bonnart‘s cross.
Six minutes later, Raul Garcia got what proved to be the winner for the hosts when he cleverly flicked Mariano Pernia’s near-post free-kick in off the post.
Marseille almost levelled late on when Niang fired just wide, but the Spanish side held on for the win.
