Zambia head coach Herve Renard has expressed interest in replacing Tanzania’s Taifa Stars coach Marcio Maximo, whose contract expires in July.

In a report posted in the Daily News the Tanzania Football Federation general secretary, Fredrick Mwakalebela, confirmed yesterday that Renard was among a number of high profile coaches who sent their applications.

“Though we have not announced the criteria for national team coach, applications are already flowing in,” he said.

He added that they will declare the post vacant and announce qualifications for Maximo’s successor after the federation’s general meeting later this month.

Mwakalebela also disclosed that the executive committee will meet tomorrow to discuss several issues that will be presented in their general meeting, which is scheduled to take place in two weeks with the main agenda being the fate of national team coach Maximo.

For the last 20 years I have been working as a football pundit. This experience has provided me with a very useful insight into football and the opportunity to carry out extensive research into the game including its players, the stadiums, the rules and tactics and I have also been grateful to meet a wide range of people connected to football in the UK, Tanzania, Germany .....

  1. Rene is the big coach .He can do ,very nice job with our national team ,and among those who till now wanna the maximo,s post ,Rene is the best.So TFF take care and give the chance to Rene .All peoples in the World they saw how he changed Zambian,s game .From big joe

  2. Yes Herve is a good coach but i think he is in the same level with Maximo so TFF should not consider him as a high profile coach. Let TFF look for highly qualified &experienced coach who can bring changes to Tanzanian football.
