Andrey Arshavin Russia - 0

Tottenham have agreed a fee with Liverpool to re-sign Keane, while Arsenal have finally struck a deal to sign Russia playmaker Arshavin from Zenit St Petersburg. But time is ticking down as they attempt to complete their big-name signings.

16:35 – Ha! Brilliant! Chelsea are reportedly attempting to hijack Tottenham’s bid for Inter winger Ricardo Quaresma! They only have 25 minutes to do so, however.

16:30 – DEAL!! Fulham sign Olivier Dacourt on a permanent deal from Internazionale.

16:30 – Andrei Arshavin is inching closer to becoming an Arsenal player. He has passed his medical at the Emirates, but the one remaining obstacle is that Zenit reportedly want a cut of the Russian’s signing-on fee.

16:20 – If you really want to know what’s going on in the world, consult a betting exchange. And the markets seem convinced that this Santa Cruz deal is going ahead. It is thought Blackburn want a player in return from Manchester City, possibly Michael Johnson.

16:15 – Possible last-minute moves: Arshavin and Keane look like they are certain to go through, while Manchester City have reportedly tabled a final £20 million bid for Roque Santa Cruz. And Tottenham are still trying to finalise a deal for Internazionale winger Ricardo Quaresma.

16:15 – DONE DEAL!!Chesterfield extend Peter Till ‘s loan spell from League Two rivals Grimsby Town until the end of the current campaign.

16:10 – DONE DEAL!! West Bromwich Albion sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu on loan for the rest of the season following a successful trial.

16:05 – DONE DEALS!!Aldershot sign 19-year-old Reading goalkeeper Alex McCarthy and Cheltenham midfielder Andy Lindegaard – both on a month’s loan.

16:00 – With an hour left until the transfer window closes, Liverpool confirm they have agreed a fee with Tottenham for Robbie Keane. It’s just a hunch, but Keane and Defoe could be a useful partnership for Spurs.

16:00 – It’s all going off! Arsenal have agreed both a fee with Zenit St Petersburg and personal terms with Andrei Arshavin! A roving TV reporter has his moment of glory spoiled as two kids chuck snow at each other immediately behind him.

15:55 – MASSIVE DEAL!!Rochdale have extended the loan spell of Blackburn goalkeeper Frank Fielding until the end of the season. It’s that kind of white-knuckle action that makes deadline day so compelling.

15:50 – DONE DEAL!! Charlie Insomnia completes his move to Wigan for Taylor plus cash. Joe Kinnear won’t be losing any sleep over that deal, etc etc.

15:50 – DONE DEAL!! Leeds United complete the signing of American striker Mike Grella, who has signed an 18-month contract at Elland Road.

15:45 – A reminder of just what is going on – the deadline, sensibly enough for a January transfer window, remains 5pm on February 2. But teams can continue to register deals until midnight if they can provide proof that they have been delayed by the adverse weather conditions. What kind of proof? Snowballs?

15:40 – The word on the rumour mill is that Fulham have signed former Leeds man Olivier Dacourt on loan from Internazionale for the rest of the season. The Frenchman will be allocated Jimmy Bullard‘s locker.

15:35DEAL OFF! Giovani has been found to be so lacking in fitness during his medical at Fratton Park that Portsmouth have pulled the plug on their deal for the young Mexican. He returns, shame-faced, to Tottenham.

15:30 – Whelan also says there is “a lot of interest” in Luis Valencia and sounds less than confident about his chances of keeping the Ecuador winger in the summer.

15:25 – Wigan chairman Dave Whelan confirms N’Zogbia is just finishing his medical at the club, and Ryan Taylor will leave the JJB for Newcastle in a part-exchange deal.

15:25 –DONE DEAL!!Scunthorpe swoop to sign Arsenal midfielder Henri Lansbury on an initial one-month loan deal.

15:20 – This just in: Milan say they want to keep David Beckham. Again. Fat chance anything will be sorted by the end of the day, however.

15:15 – DONE DEAL!! With less than two hours of the window left, Fulham agree a deal to keep Coventry winger Julian Gray until the end of the season.

14:45 – The Scottish Football Association will not extend the transfer window north of the border.

14:35 – We still await news of Robbie Keane‘s potential move to White Hart Lane. He is undergoing a medical at Spurs, with some reports claiming a £15m fee has been agreed and others having us believe the clubs are yet to reach a compromise.

14:30 – DEADLINE EXTENDED – The transfer window has indeed been extended past five o’clock, but only for those transfers which have been hindered by the weather – this must be proven.

14:25 – According to reports Roque Santa Cruz will be staying at Blackburn. Too little, too late on City’s part – Rovers wanted to replace him and now will have no time to do so.

14:20 – DONE DEAL!! Everton sign Manchester City striker Jo on loan for the remainder of the season – a bit of a scoop as City paid £18m for him in the summer. Make that three Prem clubs to have brought players in.

14:15 – Burnley midfielder Steve Jones will stay with Bradford until the end of the season after the parties reached an agreement.

14:10 – DONE DEAL!! Henri Camara finalises a loan move to Stoke from Wigan until the end of the current campaign. That is only the second completed deal with a Premier League club as the recipients of a player.

14:00 – DONE DEAL!! Oldham striker Craig Davies completes his switch to League One rivals Brighton after the clubs agreed an undisclosed fee.

13:30 – DONE DEAL!! Blackpool seal the free transfer of midfielder Francesco Carratta from Royal Antwerp.

13:15 – Giovani dos Santos seems set to quit Spurs after they received two bids for the former Barca winger. One of the interested parties is said to be Pompey again… Tony Adams on a mission to rebuild, it seems.

13:05 – DONE DEAL!! Wycombe sign Crawley striker John-Paul Pittman for an undisclosed fee.

12:55 – DONE DEAL!! Hereford sign Hungarian goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi on loan from Liverpool.

12:50 – Inter overlord Mourinho is said to be willing to take David Bentley or Jermaine Jenas to the Giuseppe Meazza in exchange for Quaresma. Bentley could make sense…

12:40 – Charles N’Zogbia is having a medical at Wigan – is that the dream move he was after? It is doubtful, taking nothing away from the achievements of Steve Bruce’s side this season.

12:25 – DONE DEAL!! Wolves complete a move for Hearts captain Christophe Berra, who was linked with a move to several Premier League clubs. The Scotland centre-half joins on a four-and-a-half-year deal.

12:20 – DONE DEALS!!Barnsley in a triple swoop, bagging Coventry striker Michael Mifsud until the end of the season – when his contract ends – as well as Fulham’s Andranik Teymourian and Liverpool winger Adam Hammill on loan.

12:15 – Former Leeds star Ian Harte leaves Blackpool after spending a month with the Seasiders.

12:10 – Sunderland striker Djibril Cisse – on loan from Marseille – quashes reports that he wants out sooner than the summer. And why would he after his feelgood goal in the Tyne-Wear derby yesterday?

12:05 – DONE DEAL!! Brighton take Stockport full-back Jim McNulty to the Withdean for £150,000.

12:00 –Cardiff reveal that they have bid £3m for an unnamed striker. If you are able to add two and two together successfully you will come up with the answer Fletcher.

11:35 – DONE DEALS!! Barnet sign Mark Hughes and Matt Lockwood on loan from Chester and Colchester respectively.

11:30 – The Premier League are in talks with FIFA about a possible extension of the deadline past five o’clock – having already extended it once before. Of course it is weather-related… and the snow is still coming down.

11:20 –Jo is on Merseyside to look at doing a deal with Everton. Or perhaps to take in the sights of the former European capital of culture.

11:10 – Quaresma has been left out of Inter’s Champions League squad list, fuelling the speculation of a move to Spurs. Surely ‘Arry Redknapp isn’t going to sign another winger…

11:05 – It is being reported elsewhere that Newcastle have launched an official bid for Michael Johnson.

11:00 – DONE DEAL!! Sheffield Wednesday sign Wolves defender Michael Gray on a permanent deal lasting until the end of the season. The veteran’s one-month loan deal at Hillsborough was due to expire this week.

10:50 –Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins wants Barnsley striker Kayode Odejayi – the goal hero against Chelsea in the FA Cup last season – on loan. The tall Nigerian is not having a prolific season with the Reds.

10:45 –Milan have included David Beckham in their squad list for the UEFA Cup – does that mean he will sign permanently from LA Galaxy? It certainly doesn’t dampen those rumours…

10:35 – The Keane transfer, if it goes through, could mean that former Barcelona striker Javier Saviola – now warming the bench at Real Madrid – will be heading to Liverpool instead of Spurs…

10:30 – Rob Jones is not the only Hibs player linked with a move away from Easter Road today: Cardiff are reported to have made a bid for Steven Fletcher, while Doncaster are expected to finalise a deal for Dean Shiels.

10:25 – Veteran striking star Henrik Larsson denies that he is set to sign for West Ham, Bolton or any other English club on loan. Shame.

10:20 – DONE DEAL!! Coventry complete the signing of defender and sometime striker James McPake from Livingston. How much for, you ask? Undisclosed, we’re afraid.

10:15 – Le Parisien reckons Bolton want to do a deal with Lyon for target man Fred, with 4.5m in readies mentioned.

10:10 – Stoke boss Tony Pulis is desperate to add more faces to his squad after the arrivals of Matthew Etherington and James Beattie. Guirane N’Daw and Gary O’Neil have been linked with the Potters in the last few weeks.

10:05 – The Arsenal deal for Arshavin seems to be off!! Reports claim that Arshavin will be on his way back to Russia shortly after the Gunners refused to meet his personal demands – at least he will be once the airports open!!

10:05 – DONE DEAL!! Peterborough bag young Manchester United centre-half James Chester on a month’s loan.

10:00 – DONE DEAL!! Norwich sign attacking midfielder Alan Gow from Rangers on loan for the rest of the season.

09:55 – Sporting Lisbon say that Bolton‘s move for Miguel Veloso is over – due to discrepancies in the preferred method of payment.

09:50 –Newcastle are in for Coventry left-back Daniel Fox, tabling a £1.15 million bid. The ex-Walsall man is an England Under-21 international.

09:45 – Reading are still hopeful that Stephen Hunt will stay, saying again that they have not received any bids matching the £5 million buy-out clause in his contract.

09:40 – What’s this? Spurs set to sign with a fancy-dan winger? Ricardo Quaresma, out of favour under Jose Mourinho at Internazionale, has been linked with a loan move to White Hart Lane.

09:35 –Everton could be in for Rennes striker Asamoah Gyan, with Lukas Jutkiewick a possible makeweight from the Toffees side of things…

09:30 – Nottingham Forest manager Billy Jones is hoping to seal the signing of Hibernian captain Rob Jones before the end of the transfer window. Colchester have seen numerous bids for the centre-half rejected in the last weeks. It would cost Forest £600,000.

09:25 –Fulham are thought to have lodged a bid with Almeria for highly-rated Spanish forward Alvaro Negredo, who has been in good form with 10 goals in 19 Liga games.

09:20 – Christian Panucci‘s agent has claimed the Roma man has turned down the chance to move to Hull. They could do with the prolific strike-rate of the defender in the latter stages of his career…

09:15 – With the weather putting paid to transport links throughout the country, perhaps some agents’, players’ and clubs’ hopes of pushing through deals will be hindered somewhat; but then there is a long way to go until five o’clock this afternoon, the end of the window.

09:10 – The big news so far is that Andrei Arshavin is hanging around North London like the hordes stranded outside train stations in our nation’s capital; he is hopeful of a deal with Arsenal, but there is nothing in place as yet.

09:00 – Good morning and welcome to eurosport.yahoo.co.uk’s LIVE coverage of the transfer window movers and shakers.
