The national team youth coach Brazilian Marcos Tinoco has accused the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) for poor management on youth teams.
Tinoco said yesterday that TFF had no commitment on developing youth teams as most of the time they had been discouraging his programmes.
“I have been presenting my training proposals but none of them has been accepted so far,” Tinoco said.
The Brazilian tactician said that TFF had been giving first priority to senior team (Taifa Stars) forgetting that football scan never be successful without youth teams.
“No where in the world can you develop a strong soccer team without youth teams. Tanzania will never develop if TFF will not change this attitude,” he added.
“TFF has no budget for youth project and yet they get a lot of money from sponsors. They put me in a difficult situation to enjoy my profession,” Tinoco who was expected to meet TFF yesterday, said.
Last week, TFF pulled out its youth teams in the CAF competitions.
Serengeti Boys was supposed to host Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in a CAF under-17 first leg, qualifying match on April 11 at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam. The return leg match was supposed to be played on April 25 in DRC.
Ngorongoro Heroes was also supposed to face Sudan in a CAF under -20 qualifying match.
The finals will be played next year between January 18 and February 1 in Kigali, Rwanda.
