Taifa Stars out for revenge

Taifa Stars head coach Marcio Maximo has said he has prepared his squad well to beat Mozambique`s Mambas in their friendly match today.

The Brazilian tactician said yesterday that his team had trained for only two days but would be in a position to beat the visitors in the match to be played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

“Mozambique is a good team which has many internationals, but this doesn`t warrant them they will beat us again. In fact, we have prepared well,“ Maximo said.

On his side, Taifa Stars assistant captain Nadir Haroub `Cannavaro` said they had prepared well to win the match.

Maximo will depend on the services of players such as Ulimboka Mwakingwe, Emmanuel Gabriel, Jerry Tegete, Mrisho Ngasa and Yona Ndabila in attacking the visitors.

The Mambas, who arrived on Monday and yesterday, will be aiming to maintain their unbeaten record against Tanzania.

They defeated Taifa Stars 1-0 in the Ghana 2008 African Cup of Nations Group Seven qualifying match in Dar es Salaam last year after forcing a barren draw in the first leg match played in Maputo.

Fans will have to pay 20,000/- each to watch the game at VIP, 15,000/-(main), 8000/-(green) and 3,000/ – (popular stand).

Taifa Stars will use the game to prepare for a match in the newly-introduced CAF tournament against hosts Kenya`s Harambee Stars set for Saturday in Nairobi.
