Six Maasai warriors have arrived in Britain to run in the London Marathon.

The men hope to raise money so clean water can be pumped to their village, Eluai in northern Tanzania.

Isaya, Ngovu, Lengami, Ninna, Taico and Kesika have never left Eluai before.

They will run in traditional costumes, carrying sticks and chanting traditional Maasai songs.

They will run in shoes made from car tyres and do not expect the 26-mile course to be a problem as they often spend long periods running with their cattle and protecting them from predators.

In recent years, the men have endured famine and drought and two in every five children born in Eluai die before they reach the age of five.
