Simba approach Mziray for consultancy services

Coach Syllersaid Mziray

Simba leadership has approached high-profile prominent coach Syllersaid Mziray for consultancy services, the club’s newly elected chairman Ismail Rage confirmed yesterday.

Beside Mziray, the Mainland soccer champions have also attempted to hook Ugandan Sam Timbe, who ended his contract with dethroned Kagame Cup champions Atraco from Rwanda.

Rage said Simba need to have the assistance from the coaching duo to assist their Zambian coach Patrick Phiri to complete their technical staff requirements.

Rage believes Simba’s technical staff would be formidable enough should they have the coaching duo onboard.

The new samba chairman says his team lost to Egyptian Haras Al Hadood in the CAF champions League as their opponents had perfected in technical requirements.

“We need at least three competent coaches to strengthen our team ahead of both title defences and African Champions League.

He said both Timbe and Mziray have remarkable coaching expertise and competence good enough to power Simba into football heights.

Mziray is tipped to have the capacity of working out Simba players’ drawbacks of lacking stamina and psychological motivation.

When contacted for comments Mziray said he is still on the negotiating table with Simba and his availability would only be confined to consultancy services and not full time coaching job.

“We are still negotiating but I can not become an assistant coach to any team”, responded Mziray.

Mziray, previously coached Simba and their rivals Young Africans is believed to have a rare coaching proficiency to transform soccer teams into unusual success.

Simba’s coach Patrick Phiri who led the team into their Mainland premiership title haul with exemplary performance without losing a match in 22 appearances, is expected to join Simba by next week.

Rage said Simba has also installed a gym inside their club house to cater for the players training.

In related development, Simba have reinstated their information officer

Clifford Ndimbo, who would be under three-month probation before winning fulltime employment.

Ndimbo served in the capacity as spokesman for Simba for a year until his contact ended two months ago.
