Shaban Ibrahim reaches ITF final

Tanzanian Shaban Ibrahim will today play Burundian Guyorly Iradukuda in the ITF/CAT East Africa Region Zone under-14 final at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club.

Ibrahim beat Kenyan Ismail Changawa, 6-3, 6-1, before defeating Hamis Gatete of Rwanda with the same margin to reach the last stage of the championship.

Tanzanians Justin Joseph and Yassin Shaban could not make it to the final in the under-16 singles when they were beaten by Burundians Idrissa Ndaisenga and Ndayishimiye Hassan, 6-4,6-2 and 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, respectively.

In under-16 girls, Syori Laura of Burundi defeated Nadia Fernandez (Kenya) 6-1, 6-3.

Shufaa Changawa (Kenya) beat Zakia Salum (Tanzania) 6-2, 6-3.
