Serikali yatoa tamko TFF kusahau matumizi ya Uwanja mpya Dar

SERIKALI imelitaka Shirikisho la Soka Tanzania (TFF), kusahau uwanja mpya na badala yake kuangalia upya viwanja vingine.

Akizungumza jana, Waziri wa Habari, Michezo na Utamaduni, Kapteni George Mkuchika alisema mkataba wa ujenzi wa uwanja huo utakamilika Juni na kwamba wizara yake ina mpango wa kukutana na wajenzi hao kuangalia namna ya kuuharakisha ujenzi huo.

Hata hivyo, aliitaadharisha TFF kutokuwa na matumaini ya uwanja huo kwa ujao kama ambavyo wamekuwa wakitaka.

Awali serikali ilitangaza kukabidhiwa uwanja huo mwishoni mwa mwezi Aprili, lakini jana Mkuchika alisema hawawezi kutoa uwanja huo utumike kabla ya kumalizika ujenzi wake.

Uwanja huo ambao unachukua watazamaji 60,000 unajengwa na Kampuni ya Beijing Constrution ya China ikiwa ni utekelezaji wa ahadi ya Rais Mstaafu, Benjamin Mkapa.

“Mkataba wetu na wajenzi ni mwezi wa sita, tunawaomba kama itawezekana mwezi wa nne hata hivyo hatuwezi kuwapa watumie kama hautakamilika,”alisema Mkuchika.

“Wasiangalia pitch (nyasi) zilizopo waangalie zana nyingine mbali mbali ambazo zinatakiwa kuwa kwenye jengo sehemu ya kukumbilia (Tatani) haijakamilika,”alisema.

Kauli ya Mkuchika imekuja siku moja baada ya TFF kudai kuwa mchezo wa Stars na Mauritus kuwania tiketi ya kucheza Kombe la Dunia na michuano ya Afrika mwaka 2010 utachezwa Kenya baada ya Shirikisho la Soka la Kimataifa (Fifa) kukataa viwanja vingine vilivyopo nchini.
