Ruvuma are 2008 Copa Coca-Cola champions

Ruvuma regional youth soccer team has been crowned U-17 national champions after defeating Kigoma 6-5 in a final match of the Copa Coca-Cola tournament held at the national stadium.

The two teams drew 1-1 in 120 minutes including additional 30 that were awarded after they drew 1-1 in 90 minutes.

Ruvuma converted five of the six penalties missing one while Kigoma converted 4 missing two.

Leodgar Ngonyani, Joseph Mahundi Jukumu Kibanda Godfrey Kambukila and Mohamed Milanzi of Ruvuma made it for their team while Robert James missed.

Kigoma`s Moka Shaaban, Musa Soud, Lembele Jerome and Elias Mapunda made it while Salum Said and Zuberi Mlindwa missed.

The one all goals which were scored through penalties were realised in the first half and were scored by Moka Shaaban for Kigoma and Robert James for Ruvuma.

The winning team was awarded 4.5m, second placed Kigoma 3m/- and third placed Mwanza 2m/- after defeating Iringa 3-0 in a match played earlier.

Mwanza goals were scored by Dotto Odhiambo in the 32nd a nd 45th minutes and the third one was scored by David Ndeto in the 79th minute. Mwanza had been given more preference of being crowned thewinners.
