Police Dodoma eye promotion

Police Dodoma continued to impress in the Tanzania Football Federation’s intermediate first division soccer league currently going on here.

The Dodoma cops team cruised into impressive 2-0 goals victory over Morogoro based Rhino in a match played over the weekend at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium.

The winners scored all their two goals through striker Bantu Admin in the first half and Rhino were unable to recover as the second half kicked off.

Admin broke the deadlock after 31 minutes when he capitalised on goal mouth melee before releasing a sizzling shot that sailed into the net for the opener.

He was again on target five minutes later connecting home a cross from the right flank, the goal believed to be the most spectacular since the qualifiers kicked off here last week.

As contrasted to previous matches, coaches of both sides were satisfied by the level of officiating displayed by the referee.

Rhino’s head coach Amri Ibrahim said his boys were highly affected by the hot weather that prevailed during the match, though Police Dodoma had a good game especially in the first half.

The second match of the day involved Tanga’s Coastal Union who lost to Ruvu Shooting Stars by a lone goal scored by substitute Rajab Nakuhema after 60 minutes.

Nakuhema scored on his first touch after taking to the field.

For the last 20 years I have been working as a football pundit. This experience has provided me with a very useful insight into football and the opportunity to carry out extensive research into the game including its players, the stadiums, the rules and tactics and I have also been grateful to meet a wide range of people connected to football in the UK, Tanzania, Germany .....
