Nine golfers train for Zambia tourney

Nine golfers have started training at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club to prepare for the Zone Six tournament which will tee off on April 26 in Lusaka, Zambia.

The national golf team coach Charles Ferrar named the golfers who he was training as Hassan Kadio, Bryason Nyenza, Yasin Saleh, Salum Omary, Geofrey Leverian and Godfrey Mtungirwege.

There are also John Leons, Jimmy Mollel and Abdallah Yusuph.

“The team train twice a day together with other players who were not included the national team,“ he said, adding that the team would have a number of matches every weekend before leaving for Zambia.

Countries which have so far confirmed to compete in the tournament include Kenya, Uganda, Somalia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mozambique and hosts Zambia.
