Tanzania crashed out of the international netball championship after lacklustre performance as Malawi meet South Africa and Uganda date Zambia in the semifinal pairings at National Stadium in Dar es Salaam today
The host nation will have to play a classification match to vie for the fifth place as the face off Namibia.
The host nation flopped beyond anticipation after losing the third straight match at the hands of well drilled Ugandans by 42-30 goals in the championship that winds up tomorrow.
The match, played early in the morning at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam, saw the host side trailing throughout the four quarters in a sequence of 7-14, 19-24, 24-38, 30-42 goals.
Scorers for the host side were Nyirabu Maxmillian, Agnes Simkonda and Neema Emmanuel while Peace Proscovia and Hadija Nakabuye scored for the winners.
In another match Malawi continued to shine by thrashing South Africa by 50-32 goals with Linda Magombo and Emma Mzagalo at their best.
The sequence of the scorers were 8-12, 14-26, 21-37, 32-50 goals in favour of Malawi. Annamarie Frost, Dumisane Chauke and Yoland Bedehorst scored for South Africa.
Malawi topped the standings chart with ten points at the end of the day as they also triumphed over hard fighting Zambian team by 63-39 goals in their second match of the day.
Malawi had a good sequence of scoring 17-8, 36-18, 48-30 and 63-39 to maintain unbeaten run in the tourney.
Zambia are third placed at the end of the day three with seven points as Tanzania had collected paltry three points to crash out of the podium track.
Lesotho lost to Namibia in a four quarters sequence of 11-07, 17-17, 28-23, 32-36 goals.
Namibian scored through Tjatinda Kambutuku and Zanambuka Tjipetekera as Thato Lekhoana and Malesenyeho Matsepe scored for Lesotho.
