Defending champions Friedrichshafen edged out 2006 winners Sisley Treviso to put themselves in pole position to reach the Champions League Final Four ahead of next week’s second leg.

2006 champions Sirio Perugia look in good shape after sinking fellow Italians Vini Monteschiavo Jesi 25-18 30-28 34-32 and Asystel Novara are also flying the Serie A flag after defeating Voléro Zurich 25-23 25-23 25-21.

Their Final Four will be played in Murcia on April 5-6 and the hosts have directly qualified.
