Thirteen local runners will compete in the World Cross County Championship in Scotland on March 30. Athletics Tanzania (AT) Assistant Secretary General Julius Msomi said yesterday that the team formed by seven men and six women, would leave for the race on March 27.

“We can not name them now but some of them will be runners who have already qualified for the Olympic Games,“ he said, adding that it would be a good trial for the Olympic team.

Meanwhile, the national athletics team will start residential camp on Monday in Arusha to prepare for the Olympic Games set for Beijing, China from August 8-22.
