Yanga out to win league title with two matches remaining

Yanga play JKT Ruvu in a crucial Vodacom Premier League match at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam today.

Yanga will be declared the champions if they win as they will reach 49, the mark which can not be reached by any of the remaining 13 teams.

The Jangwani Street side will still have two games to go, against their archrivals Simba and Prisons.

Yanga- JKT match was earlier set for last weekend but was postponed to today because of Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay which took place in the city last Sunday.

Prisons are placed second with 38 points while defending champions Simba are in the third place with 37 after defeating Toto African 3-0 in the match played last Tuesday.

Fourth-placed Mtibwa Sugar are also competing for the second slot as they have 36 points.

The champions will represent Tanzania in the African Champions League while first runners-up will compete in the Confederation Cup.

The Four teams which are in the relegation zone are Manyema, Pan Africa, Ashanti United and Coastal Union.
