Twiga Stars for training

Tanzania national women soccer team, the Twiga Stars expect to embark on off campus training to gear up for African nations Cup qualifiers on Monday.

The team’s head coach Charles Boniface said players of the team would for the start attend training off the camp until further notice.

Boniface said plans are underway to secure at least two friendly matches against national sides to be available.

The coach said Twiga Stars focus on winning the continental title and therefore training at this stage would boost their projected target.

However, Boniface has been baffled not to know the exact date of the championship in South Africa.

He said once he knows the date of te tourney it would be proper for him to draw a training programme.

Boniface said should his team play two friendly matches, they would build up a string confidence to perfect in the tournament.

Twiga Stars qualified for the continental soccer berth after breezing past Ethiopia and Eritrea teams.

Their qualification is the first ever in the history of the country’s women soccer.

Boniface said while players of the team are supposed to attend the off campus training, they should also stay alert on a possible announcement by the Tanzania Football Federation in connection with the team’s camping itinerary.
