THE NMB on Wednesday offered 5,000 soccer balls worth 100m/- to the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), being part of the firm’s Ball Project implementation, aimed at rejuvenating football in the country

The balls to be distributed countrywide were presented by the NMB Chief Commercial Officer, Kees Verbeek on Wednesday to the TFF youth football development committee Chairman, Ahmad Mgoyi.

Verbeek said the balls distribution was the beginning of implementation of key areas that was entailed in the sponsorship agreement between the firm and TFF.

The ultimate goal, he said, is to avail young players with opportunity to showcase their talent
and be developed.

He said the balls will be distributed through extensive NMB network of branches countrywide as well as through the federation’s coaches in the regions.

Tanzania is endowed with talented young players, we believe if they are given the needed support, then the country will have a pool of great footballers,” he said.

He said the support is also aimed at accelerating the growth of football and enable aspiring youth from all parts of the country to realise their dreams of becoming successful football players.

Mgoyi thanked NMB for their continued support which he said it give the youngsters chance to showcase their skills and in so doing, create a strong foundation for the development of the game.

“We believe that the youth soccer support will also assist youth to refrain from unwelcome behaviours and activities,” said Mgoyi.

Under the youth soccer agreement, NMB supports three key areas of provision of footballs, financing youth soccer technical committee and scholarship to the under-17 youth team.
