Tanzania Volleyball Association has organized Volleyball course in Mwanza region specially tailored for Secondary school sports teachers.
The course began last Friday with more than 23 sports teachers attending the course.
The program under the sponsorship of the International Volleyball Federation FIVB dubbed as National Coaches program for Secondary School sports teachers aims at involving 600 teachers nationwide.
TAVA has already done the same courses in Manyara Arusha , Tanga, Zanzibar, Dodoma and recently in Morogoro regions.
According to the President of Tanzania Volleyball Association TAVA Israel Agapa, the program was endorsed through FIVB Development plan that intends to reach over 600 secondary school teachers.
The same will pass over the knowledge and volleyball skills to over 20 youths hence expecting more than 10,000 youths benefit from the project..
The course is conducted by a local instructor Fred Selengia who is also a TAVA chairman for Regional Development and Planning.
Meanwhile preparations for the next months Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Volleyball Cup are in a full swing. The tournament to be held in Moshi Hindu Mandal Volleyball court next month has brought anxiety amongst volleyball fans in Tanzania and nearby countries.
Foreign teams that have confirmed participation includes Prisons Mombasa, Migudini Ladies, Mombasa Refinery and Cup holders Jacaranda also from Mombasa Kenya.
