The Cycling Association of Tanzania is proud to announce that a team of Tanzanian riders will compete in the African Continental Championships of cycling to be held in Asmara, the capital of Eritrea, from 8 to 13 November.
This is the first time ever for a Tanzanian cycling team to attend the African Championships.
We will send at least two riders.
We are calling for sponsors’ support for sending a team of six and two officials.
The cost is USD 1,500 per person for travel and accommodation.
The Team Manager, and CHABATA technical committee have selected six riders among a group of 20 that is undergoing an intensive training since 10 weeks hosted and financed by the Arusha Cycling Club. The six riders will travel tomorrow to Rwanda for another two weeks training directed by Jock Boyer, former professional American rider and now coach of Team Rwanda.
The six selected riders are:

– Hamisi Husein Arusha
– Juma Lukondya Zanzibar
– John Samuel Arusha
– Maua Joseph Arusha
– Kakaa Melyio Arusha
After the ACC in Eritrea, a Tanzanian team will participate to the Tour of Rwanda to be held from 20 to 27 November. The Tour is category 2.2 of UCI meaning that European and American teams will also be there.
