Stars face to face with Indomitable Lions in Yaounde

Taifa Stars go in their fourth African Nations/2010 World Cup qualifier assignment today as they play away to Cameroon`s Indomitable Lions at the Yaounde Stadium.

The two teams forced a barren draw in their last match staged last weekend at the Dar es Salaam main National Stadium.

Stars on Thursday were awarded 6.2m/-by their co-sponsors National Microfinance Bank (NMB) for the draw against Cameroon in the first leg match.

Brazilian tactician Marcio Maximo said during the team’s departure for Cameroon that they have been well prepared to sink their hosts on their own soil.

“Although it is going to be a tough encounter, I am confident that we are going to outclass them at their home ground. We had good preparations and my players are in good condition for the match,“ Maximo explained.

Maximo will today depend on the service of his top players like Skipper Henry Joseph, Danny Mrwanda, Nizar Khalfan and Mrisho Ngasa to sink their hosts.

Stars are placed third in Group A with three points and they have so far played three qualifier matches.

They draw 0-0 against Mauritius in the first qualifier, lost 1-0 to Cape Verde before forced another goalless draw against Cameroon last weekend.

Players who are in the squad are Ivo Mapunda, Farouk Ramadhani, Shedrack Nsajigwa, Juma Jabu, Amir Maftah, and Nadir Haroub, Cannavaro, Sued, Meshack Abel, Shaaban Nditi, Athumani Iddi, Godfrey Boniface, Mrisho Ngasa, Jerry Tegete, Emanuel Gabriel, Ulimboka Mwakingwe and Kigi Makasi.
