Simba SC roar as Yanga beaten by Majimaji FC

Simba came from behind to hit Toto Africa 3-1 in a Vodacom Premier League match played at Jamhuri Stadium in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

The lake zone side scored the lone goal in the sixth minute through Laurence Mugia whose corner kick ball went directly into the net untouched.

Musa Hassan Mgosi levelled through a penalty shot for Simba in the 45th. Referee had awarded the penalty to the Dar es Salaam outfits when a Toto Africa defender handed the ball in the danger zone.

Haruna Moshi manipulated a Kelvin Yondan pass to register the second in the 47th before Emmanuel Okwi used Salum Kanoni’s pass to register the third in the 67th minute.

The team trained by Zambian Patrick Phiri lead the 12-team league with nine points. They tie with Mtibwa Sugar but they beat the sugar men with goal difference.

In Songea, defending champions Yanga were defeated by hosts Majimaji in another match played at Majimaji grounds.

Majimaji who were considered underdogs scored their lone goal in the 60th through Thomas Maurice.

The linesman disallowed the goal on the grounds that the scorer was offside. Yanga remain in the fourth place with four points. JKT Ruvu are third with six points.
