Simba will face tough assignment when they play away former African soccer champions Enyimba in the Champions League second round, first leg in Aba in Nigeria tomorrow.
The Tanzanian club will go into the game with the aim of breaking their jinx considering that the West African club had defeated them twice, in 2003 and 2004.
Simba assistant coach Jamhuri Kihwelu said that they had prepared well to upset Enyimba on their homeland. “This time we have trained well to beat them,“ Jamhuri said.
Simba’s Serbian coach Cirkovic Milovan said nothing would stop the Dar es Salaam-based side from emerging the winners as all players were in upbeat mood ahead of game.
Milovan is expected to field Mosses Odhiambo, Ramadhani , Yahya Akilimali, Mussa Hassan `Mgosi`, Emanuel Gabriel and Athumani Machupa in the frontline. Juma Kaseja, Deo Boneventure, Henry Joseph, Ramadhani Waso, Kelvin, Yondani, Mohammed Banka and Julius Mrope are some of the players expected in the midfield and backline.
Simba are expected to use 4-4-2 in the first 20 minutes but may change the pattern depending on the mood of the game.
The return leg match will be played in Dar es Salaam after two weeks.
Simba eliminated Awasa of Ethiopia with a 4-1 aggregate win to reach the second round while Enyimba defeated Diables Noirs of Democratic Republic of Congo with a 7-3 aggregate.
