RIP John Zambetakis

I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of John Zambetakis. John was a true sportsman, he represented Tanzania in three different sports during his youth, boxing, basketball and volleyball, of which he became a National Volleyball  Coach and technical brain of the game. Zambetakis was a fun and charming communicator to all volleyball lovers in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and Zambia. He symbolised the volleyball revolution in Tanzania through the Bonite Cup and KLM Cup at the YMCA ground in Dar es Salaam. He is the one who supported me and identified my potential in Volleyball, which led me to serve at the National Sports Board ( TAVA)—thinking of the family during this difficult time.
