Mamelodi, Musonye to monitor TFF election

The world soccer body, Fifa, and Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (Cecafa) will send representatives to monitor the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) general election.

TFF Secretary-General Frederick Mwakalebela said yesterday that Fifa development officer in Africa Ashrof Mamelodi would represent the body while Cecafa would be represented by its secretary general Nicholas Musonye.

Mwakalebela said that the two officials would arrive tomorrow ready to monitor the election set for Sunday at Dar es Salaam`s Water Front.

“The preparations of the election are ready and delegates are expected to arrive in the city tomorrow (today),“ Mwakalebela said, adding that the delegates would stay at Travertine Hotel at Magomeni.

However, a source had it that almost all delegates were already in the city meeting with the candidates.

TFF presidential seat has attracted Leodegar Tenga and Jamal Malinzi.

Lawrence Mwalusako, Athumani Nyamlani and Hassan Mwanakatwe are contesting for the first vice presidential seat.
