Five teams have been ruled out of the Mainland premiership title after collecting assailable ceiling of points by other title contenders as the season come
The teams have a poor ceiling that has already been surpassed by other teams at the top of the premiership standings table.
The teams include relegation-haunted Toto Africa and Police Dodoma who have an arduous task of premiership survival as their top priority.
Three other teams joining the relegation haunted duo are Villa Squad, Moro United and Kagera Sugar. The above named teams have ceilings already exceeded by pacemakers Simba, second placed Azam and title holders Young Africans.
After heavy loss to Simba during the midweek fixture on Wednesday, Kagera Sugar have remained with 24 points after 21 appearances to crash out of the run with a ceiling of attaining 39 points should they win all the five matches remaining.
Even the second spot finish might be unattainable by the Lake Victoria boys as already Azam have 38 matches with six matches in hand.
Eleventh placed Moro United are out of the title race having collected 18 points in twenty appearance and pray to fight on for survival in the top flight berth.
United have a slim advantage of three-point cushion away from the relegation borderline currently occupied by Toto Africa and Police Dodoma.
Villa Squad have the narrowest gap of just a point away from the relegation tunnel having collected 16 points with six matches in hand.
Squad, who shocked pacemakers Simba in the league’s biggest upset last month, have the possibility of attaining a total of 34 points should they win all the matches remaining ahead of winding up the season.
Ruvu Shooting and African Lyon still are in contention but they also have ceilings that can easily be surpassed by other serious title contenders.
Shooting have collected 21 points out of 19 appearances and have six matches in hand with a possible ceiling of 42 points and pray for Simba to fumble in their subsequent league game.
African Lyon also have a weak ceiling of 45 points and remain the only team to have played the lowest number of games, 17. Lyon have nine matches in hand.
Seven other teams, including debutants Coastal Union and Oljoro JKT, JKT Ruvu, Mtibwa Sugar, Azam pacemakers Simba and holders Yanga have a wide possibility of winning the title.
JKT Oljoro, JKT Ruvu and Coastal Union have a ceiling of attaining at least 45 points, just five points away from what Simba have attained up to the end of midweek fixtures.
Holders Yanga, Azam and Simba remain as the hottest contenders for the scudetto.
Simba have 40 points to open a two-point gap over second placed Azam but have a game in hand ahead of weekend fixtures against relegation-haunted Toto Africa
