Eurosport –
An impressive all-round display by Arsenal booked their place in the Champions League group stages beating FC Twente 4-0 at the Emirates and 6-0 on aggregate.
Arsene Wenger’s team began the better with the Dutch side providing little threat to Manuel Almunia‘s goal.
Defender Johan Djourou turned in the box but he missed the target from 12 yards-out as the home side began to dominate the game.
Twente looked dangerous on the counter attack but Stein Huysegems failed to get his shot on target following an Arsenal corner.
Steve McClaren’s side looked good on the ball but they rarely ever got a sustained period of possession during the first-half.
Robin Van Persie failed to take a good chance from just outside the area firing well over on 21.
Samir Nasri‘s strike on 25 minutes put the Gunners into a deserved lead after dominating possession during the opening stages.
Theo Walcott always looked dangerous on the right-wing taking on defenders and beating them for pace.
The England international also ended his runs with decent crosses into the box giving Twente’s defence plenty to worry about.
Shortly after the break Nicklas Bendnter had his shot saved but skipper William Gallas tapped in the rebound from close range for 2-0.
Youngster Walcott then curled in a right-footed shot from the edge of the area to end the tie as a contest.
The only way the Dutch outfit looked likely to get on the scoresheet was through a set-piece or from a fast counter-attack.
With the game all but won the two sides battled out in midfield during the last 20 minutes, but the home side always had the upper hand.
Dane Bendtner then got a goal of his own after good link-up play with Walcott in the area on 89 minutes.
