MAINLAND champions risk to be fined by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for failing to submit forms of their players on time.
The forms are required to reach CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt by today, which is the deadline.
However, Simba had by yesterday evening not submitted them to the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF).
TFF information officer Florian Kaijage confirmed to THISDAY that they had not received Simba forms at the close of business.
’’We close business at 5.00 pm and as I speak to you Simba officials have not submitted their forms,’’ Kaijage said when contacted by phone half an hour later.
Simba had earlier submitted the forms on Tuesday evening but were returned to them on Wednesday morning after they were found to have some discrepancies.
According to TFF secretary general Fredrick Mwakalebela, some of the players registered by the Msimbazi Reds have no international transfer certificates while others have not finalized transfer formalities.
Simba will take part in next year’s African Champions League while their traditional adversaries Young Africans have entered the Confederation Cup. Yanga forms are already in Cairo.
Meanwhile, Premier league club Manyema FC have endorsed the transfer of their first choice goalie Deogratius Mushi to Simba.
Manyema director Ally Mmanga told THISDAY yesterday a deal has been concluded between the two clubs and that Mushi was free to feature for the Msimbazi Reds.
’’A deal has been struck and I�m writing to Simba to confirm his transfer,’’ he said.
Mmanga said Manyema have recruited goalkeeper Yusuph Kiazi and striker Said Fadhil for the second round of the Mainland Premier league scheduled to kick off early next year.
Kiazi is a free player and contributed a lot towards Manyema�s promotion to the premier league.
