Simba and Yanga are in action this weekend as they play their CAF competition return leg matches at Dar es Salaam’s National Stadium.
Yanga play Al Akhdar of Libya today in the Confederation Cup, second round match while Simba will tomorrow play former African champions Enyimba of Nigeria in the Champions League, second round match on the same ground.
Yanga and Al Akhdar drew 1-1 when they met in the first leg in Tripoli, Libya, two weeks ago.
Yanga will need a goalless draw to advance while the visitors will need a 1-0 or 2-1 win to advance. A 1-1 draw will lead to penalty shootouts.
Yanga head coach Serbian Dusan Kondic said he is confident that his team will eliminate the Libyan club because they have prepared well to outgun them.
Kondic will likely depend on the services of key players such as Jerry Tegete, Maurice Sunguti, Mrisho Ngasa, Athumani Iddi and Abdi Kassim, to mention but a few.
The match will be handled by Comorian referees Yusuph Abdullah, Said Baca and Mtango Maxwell.
Simba will need to win 5-0 in order to book a place in the next stage of the championship.
Enyimba beat them 4-0 in the first leg match played in Aba, Nigeria two weeks ago.
