England`s top flight side Arsenal Football Club is expected to send two of their Community Development coaches next Tuesday for a three-month coaching project, organiser of the trip Mutani Yangwe of Tanzania Street Children Sports Academy (TSC) confirmed yesterday.
Yangwe who is the director of TSC said his academy has a working relationship with EPL side and the coaches are jetting in as part of the continued relationship.
He named the coaching duo as Alikhan Popat and John Olaleye who will conduct coaching services with grassroots soccer coaches from Mwanza region and neighbourhood.
TSC head coach Rogasian Kaijage is expected to join the Arsenal duo while targeting primary school pupils. The pupils will be trained on the basics of football and set priorities for youth football development.
While in the country the Arsenal coaches are also expected to assist training domestic instructors and coaches to become grassroots specialists.
He said the arrival of the coaches is clear indication that TSC is committed to football development in the country as the expatriates will lay strong foundations for development.
In related development Yangwe said players from the TSC are expected to pay a month long visit to Germany from July 14 through August.
While in Germany, they will compete in the Under-19 international championship organised by the Germany FA.
Yangwe drew optimism over the possibility of the trip in opening opportunities for domestic players.
According to him members of the TSC team are very delighted as the trip will give them a life time opportunity of competing with some top European under 19 teams.
“Its our hope that our players will learn more things from the trip as we are all aware that Germany is among the world leading country in youth football development. We believe players stand to gain from that trip”, he concluded.
